U.S. EXPORT SALES FOR WEEK ENDING 4/25/2024

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 481,300 pieces for 2024 were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 22 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for China (340,900 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 23,300 pieces), South Korea (47,300 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 400 pieces), Brazil (32,500 whole cattle hides), Mexico (31,400 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 2,100 pieces), and Thailand (20,700 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 500 pieces), were offset by reductions for Canada (1,100 pieces), India (1,000 pieces), and Indonesia (600 pieces). In addition, net sales reductions of 900 kip skins were reported for China (700 kip skins) and Japan (200 kip skins). Exports of 370,400 pieces were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides exports were primarily to China (226,900 pieces), Mexico (47,500 pieces), Brazil (38,000 pieces), South Korea (30,400 pieces), and Indonesia (8,600 pieces). In addition, exports of 1,300 kip skins were to Japan.

Net sales of 75,100 wet blues for 2024 were down 8 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Thailand (25,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (19,600 unsplit), Vietnam (15,500 unsplit), China (14,500 unsplit), and Brazil (500 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Italy (100 grain splits). Total net sales reductions of 5,000 unsplit for 2025 were for Hong Kong. Exports of 126,700 wet blues were down 3 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (35,400 unsplit), Italy (27,500 unsplit and 4,000 grain splits), China (22,500 unsplit), Thailand (16,000 unsplit), and Brazil (8,000 unsplit). Total net sales of 1,900 splits, including decreases of 2,700 pounds, were for Vietnam. Exports of 211,100 splits were to Vietnam (167,100 pounds) and China (44,000 pounds).
